Abstract

The author offers a commentary on the case concerning the judgement issued by the Criminal Court No 3 of Pamplona on 14/12/2023, abridged proceeding No 235/2023, which found an accused person guilty of the hanging of the Duna greyhound on 26/11/2021. The judgement considers the facts to be an offence of cruelty to animals (article 337 of the Criminal Code) and applies the maximum penalty provided for at the time of the offence. Furthermore, it grants compensation for the moral damage suffered by the injured parties.
