Abstract

During the months of December 2023 and April 2024, the third edition of the Animal Law Researchers Clinic organized by dA and DALPS was held, with a dozen speakers from the Americas and Europe, who addressed relevant issues such as octopus farms, animals in traditions, animalism in Latin America, animal experimentation and animal-assisted therapies.

Jose Binfa Álvarez , Fundación Abogados por los Animales (APLA)

Lawyer (Universidad Mayor, Chile). Master in Animal Law and Society, Autonomous University of Barcelona. Founder and in charge of the Advocacy area of the Fundación Abogados por los Animales (APLA).

Laure Gisie, Autonomous University of Barcelona

Laure Gisie is a PhD candidate in Animal Law (Autonomous University of Barcelona) in collaboration with the NGO SOS Galgos and AGAUR - doctorado industrial. Her research focuses on the legal protection of Spanish greyhounds. Laure obtained an MA in Environmental Law (University of Strasbourg), an MA in Private Law (University of Toulouse), an MA in Animal Law (Autonomous University of Barcelona). She holds a bachelor’s degree in international law (University of Lyon and University of Alcalá de Henares).
